Bowmans booklet 'Flour Technology'

Booklet titled 'Bowmans Flour Technology 1857-2007 Generations of Innovation - Millstones and Milestones - The Story of Bowmans'. This is an updated version of WBMC-060 with much of the same text. An additional section on 'Facing the future' describes innovations at Whitley Bridge where there was sufficient extra land to build an advanced heat treatment plant in 1992 to produce chemically inactive flour to closely controlled specifications. These were marketed through Bowman Ingredients, 'a division dedicated to devising new recipes and tailor made products for the food industry', and the new products included coating systems making batters, seasonings, glazes, marinades and dustings, mostly cereal based.

All stamped 'Approved by Selby District Council complying with Building Regulations' on 31 October 1975. Individual plans titled: Foundation Plan, Site plan, Elevations from road, Elevations from yard, Plan. Application for Building Consent completed by Simons Design Services.

A pack of 14 pages from the 1901 Census of Yorkshire, West Riding, Whitley. A summary typed page lists 13 people whose occupation is to do with milling, including John Croysdale at 16 Poplar Villa, born in Hensall and 'living on own means'.

Certificate and Schedule as to means of escape

Factories Act 1961 Certificate and Schedule to the Certificate as to Means of Escape in Case of Fire in respect of the Factory at Eggborough, Whitley Bridge, Near Goole, occupied by John Croydale and Sons Ltd. Lists buildings on site and escape routes from the areas within the buildings. States 32 men and 4 women are employed in the factory and that 1000 gallons of petrol is stored on site. Signed by the clerk of the West Riding of Yorkshire County Council and replacing the Certificate issued by Osgoldcross Rural District Council.
