Robertson's windmill, Virginia (17 pages);
Cranbrook mill (11 pages);
a draft paper on the development of windmills, bearing similarity to sections of Wailes' 'Windmills in England' (published 1948) as well as a section on horse gear (24 pages);
drawings/tracings of mill mechanisms, particularly bell alarms and sack hoists (3 pages);
Suffolk windmills begining with 'W' listed at 'Place access points' below (3 cards);

Also a bundle of loose notes mostly focusing on Suffolk mills, some being undated, those that are ranging in date from 6 October 1928 to 29 April 1932.

The first three cuttings are from an article on Mr J J Rash's Wortham Mills, starting with a photo of the mill, followed by a frontispiece on the new roller milling technology Mr Rash had installed in the mill in 1893, by Messrs E R and F Turner. The last two cuttings are pictures of Victoria Mills in Ashford and Robinson's Mill in Deptford.

Note on reverse reads, "letter in Mr Strain's rooms" and attached to the back is the following: "Recently WORTHAM Smock-Mill, Suffolk was demolished and in the picture workmen are removing the smock-boards off the body of the mill, while another stands on the curb upon which the cap rotates when the wind strikes the fantail on right of picture. The valuable timber was sold in lots recently. Photo: C. Elliott, Beccles".
