Photo of Miss Mayor's painting. This is the painting referred to in R W Smith's 1972 letters to Mr Glover, that belonged to Mr Aldridge. The mill was wrecked by a gale in 1869: a windmill is shown on this site in Chapman & André's 1777 Map of Essex. THOR-01-60 is a better quality image of the same painting.
