Part of Billings' unpublished manuscript. Series of three photographs taken from W. Coles Finch's "Watermills and Windmills" entitled "The Engine About to Haul Down the Mill". Showing the mill at Ulcombe. The first image shows the mill standing, the second the mill leaning to the right as it is being pulled down. The third image shows people standing next to a steam engine.

Part of Billings' unpublished manuscript. Series of two photographs, taken from W. Coles Finch's "Watermill and Windmills" entitled "Tenterden (Ashbourne Mill). In the process of demolition 1912". The first photograph shows the post mill upright and with sails. The second shows it minus sails, being pulled down to the right.

Folkstone, Kent, view of town, viaduct and windmill

Photograph labelled on the reverse "One of the mills at Folkstone. The date of this print is probably prior to 1844, as the mill here shown has 4 sweeps: a print of 1844 shows 2 sweeps."
Further annotations says "Folkestone", "This shows that a four-sweep mill stood near where St Michael's church now stands. There are still "Windmill Cottages, Charlotte Street" standing."

Part of Billings' unpublished manuscript. Photograph showing two mills in Woodchurch. The smock mill in the foreground is in a poor condition with at least one sweep missing and a broken fantail. The mill in the background also appears to be in a dilapidated state with broken sweeps.
