Report in the 'East Anglian Daily Times' on the plans by Mr Donald Smith, Headmaster of Park Senior School, Dagenham, to spend his Summer holidays researching Suffolk windmills. He happens also to be a member of S.P.A.B's Windmill Section.

Four folders containing the typescript, figures and illustrations, research notes and photographs, for the unpublished work, by Stephen Buckland, entitled "Brixton Windmill, the Wandle Mills, and the Ashbys". Includes family history and biographical material on the Ashby family.

Cutting from the "Ilford Recorder". The article praises the book "English Windmills" which contains a record of of the mills in Buckinghamshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Middlesex and London. Steam power was the demise of windmills particularly in Essex and London.

Cutting from "Essex Weekly News" which mentions that Donald Smith, a windmill expert, assisted the Essex Town and Country Planning Committee in its work to preserve the windmills of Essex.
