A photograph made by Hallam Ashley of a mill section drawing by Daniel England, Millwright and Engineer, Ludham, Norfolk, 1823-1897. Captioned Horning Hall estate 1897, and signed. Possibly Neaves Mill.
Part of the Rex Wailes collection. A print used for a calendar of an etching in the British Museum, described in the catalogue as 'Sunset view of the remains of St Benet's Abbey, with windmill behind; cattle resting on a bank and wading in a stretch of water in foreground; haywagon drawn by a horse approaching in middle ground from right; Plate 6; after Stark; proof. c 1834'.
Report in the 'Evening Standard' that restoration work on Brixton Hill's old windmill will soon begin, now that replacement parts have been located by a Lincolnshire millwright, Mr R. Thompson, at Burgh in Norfolk.
