The book covers a wide variety of topics related to the history of watermills including his childhood memories of growing up as a miller's son, the life of his grandfather John Munnings (1839-1914), histories of individual mills, the decline of traditional mills and advent of roller milling etc. The focus is on East Anglia and nearby regions.
