Photograph showing the side of Arun Mill in Littlehampton, West Sussex. The name 'H. Cashby' is advertised on the side of the outbuilding attached to the mill. Photographed by Lancaster E. Burne circa 1905, and then held by Rex Wailes before being passed
Cutting from 'West Sussex Gazette' of an article by Mary Taylor describing the developments in Littlehampton. It includes details of Arun Mill being built on the east bank of the harbour in 183, as well as its use as a flour mill and later a brewery, and some other historical details.
This copy of the postcard bears a 1/2d stamp. The postage rate for postcards rose to 1d in 1918, so the image presumably does not date from later than that year.
This image is undated; however it cannot be later than 1918 as this copy of the postcard bears a postmark of that date. Colour version of the image in WPAC-WIN-01236.
