West Mills, Newbury

This copy of the postcard bears a 1/2d stamp. The postage rate for postcards rose to 1d in 1918, so the image presumably does not date from later than that year.

The painting is by J. M. Macintosh of the West Mills. The mills have a turret with a weather vane on top, there is a bridge over the river to the right, and the tower of St. Nicholas' Church appears in the distance.
