Photo by Stanley Freese of Mr Geater's photograph of his father's mill. Stanley Freese was proud of the quality of this photo, which was made without removing the glass from the frame: he attributed this to his use of Agfa Isochrome film which he said was better than any other post-war film.
"Mr G.B.Geater, aged 93, with framed photo of mill taken about 1907." Research has shown he was John Balls Geater (1846-1940), a police inspector, the son of George Geater a miller and farmer in 1851.
