Cutting from "Blackpool Gazette and Herald". The Letter from 'Easter Visitor' to Blackpool has remarked that the windmill on the Preston New road was adorned with advertising which detracted from the beauty of the windmill and the vista.

The Society is highlighting the disappearance of the Fylde windmills and looking at funding arrangements.

Cutting from "Bolton Evening News" stating that the old mill at Thornton would be offered for sale at auction as one of the most complete and best furnished windmills in the country.

Cutting from "West Lancashire Evening Gazette". The Weeton windmill was built in 1812 and the present owner, Lord Derby has promised to help the Society of Ancient Monuments preserve it for the future. Mr Wailes described the mill as a 'fine example of a tower mill and the work of the early millwrights.
