Work during University of Reading career

Mostly 1970s with some early 1980s materials, the records include correspondence to and from Peter in his research and development role at the University of Reading, information gathered on nuclear power supporter arguments and responses on behalf of the wind power sector, reports, and some limited material on tidal, wind/diesel and a wind turbine blade patent.

Musgrove, Peter

Windmill postcards unknown

The postcards have been donated to the archive from a variety of sources and brought together, duplicates being removed. The majority come from the Stephen Buckland and Frank Gregory collections.
Some of the postcards are easily identifiable as Simmons cards by his stamp on the reverse. In many cases he also typed the mill name, date and an identifying number on the reverse of the image. The notebook SHOR/1118066 in the Michael Short collection contains an incomplete listing of Simmons' cards in order of identifying number; this has been used in cataloguing the collection. Our reference codes incorporate Simmons' numbers.
In some cases the information on the reverse has not been typed by Simmons but handwritten by someone else, in many cases Frank Gregory. This has been noted in the relevant catalogue entries. The information presumably came from another copy of the same card which did have typed information.
