Note on reverse reads: "The only 8 sailed mill in Gt. Britain. Works 5 pairs of stones also a sawmill. When in 1892 Mr Pocklington bought it he purchased the top and 8 arms from a mill that stoon near the present Boston Dock and put them on this mill. The roof was built in 1813 and the present tower is dated 1830."
