Two sheets of vellum measuring approximately 86 cm x 66 cm and bearing six clear seals. The document comprises a conveyance of, "a piece of Moor ground in Birkle with Bamford in the County of Lancaster called the Wild Beast Moor" made in consideration for £450. The sale is made to Thomas and John Ramsbottom, "Bread Bakers" of Bury, and is made by Edward Gregge Hopwood and John Clayton esquires and by Sir Harbord Harbord, Sir Thomas Egerton "and their Ladies", Dame Mary Harbord and Dame Eleanor Egerton.
On sheet of paper. folded in two and comprising, "A schedule of Deeds and Writings respecting Messrs. Ramsbottom's freehold and leasehold Estates mortgaged to the late Mr. Nuttall's Executors for securing £450 and Interest" and relating to property held by the Ramsbottom brothers in Bury and Birtle.

The mortgaged property is commonly known as "Harwood Field" together with additional named fields and meadows (such as "Long Field" and "Rough Meadow") and "the Great Barn". All this property previously belonged to Sir Ralph Assheton (deceased), subsequently being inherited by his daughters, Mary and Eleanor (and their respective hubands, Sir Harbord Harbord and Sir Thomas Egerton).

The disposition is made by Thomas and John Ramsbottom and Richard Tunnadine to Timothy Whitlow.
Two sheets of vellum measuring approximately 64 cm x 84 cm which divides Thomas and John Ramsbottom's holdings as tenants-in-common at "Birkle with Bamford" in two with "one Moiety thereof to Mr Thomas Ramsbottom and as to the other Moiety thereof to Mr John Ramsbottom", having "consented and agreed for the mutual interest benefit and advantage of each other to make such partition and division thereof".

Three sheets of vellum measuring approximately 70 cm x 86 cm comprising an assignment of land as security for a loan of £430 made by Benjamin Hay (cordwainer of Shepherd's Mill, Spotland, Rochdale) to Robert [K]ay and James Bentley. Amongst the parties are John and Susan Butterworth (Susan being the widow of John Ramsbottom) who both sign by their marks. John Butterworth is described as a woollen weaver of Rochdale.
14 sheets of paper measuring 33 cm x 41 cm giving an account of the title to land in Birtle cum Bamford of John Ramsbottom (junior) who had contracted to sell the estate to his uncle, Mr Thomas Ramsbottom. John Ramsbottom (junior) inherited the estate from his father (also John Ramsbottom, brother of Thomas).
1 sheet of paper measuring 33 cm x 41 cm (and folded in two) relating to dealings between John Ramsbottom (junior) of Water Barn, Forest of Rossendale, yeoman and his uncle, Thomas Ramsbottom, of Harwood Fields, Bircle-cum Bamford, also a yeoman in which John acknowledges an obligation to pay Thomas the sum of £1,000.
