This Sub - Series is comprised of 63 photographs of a wide range of watermills situated in the county of Wiltshire.

Baldham Mill, Seend

The forty first item is a photograph featuring Baldham mill in the village of Seend in Wiltshire. A note is written on the back informing us that the man standing at the door in this picture is a certain Mr Noad who was presumably the miller. The photograph was taken in 1965.

The twenty eighth item is a photograph of the Town Mill in the small town of Mere in Wiltshire.

Elcot Mill, Marlborough

The twenty seventh item is a photograph of the cogs of Elcot watermill with its most notable feature of course being the distinctive white cat sitting on top of one of the cogs. The watermill is situated just outside the market town of Marlborough . An interesting note is on the back of the photograph written in the form of a brief letter. The message reads "Dear Miss Dance, Thank you very much for a delightful evening. What a wonderful basis the meal was. I am sure that everything will be alright on the 21st of March. Drastic editing will of course be required of at least myself and D. H. J. Yours Ken. Elcot near Marlborough." The photograph is dated to 9th March 1964.

Rowde Watermill

The thirty fifth item is a photograph featuring one of the two watermills of the village of Rowde in Wiltshire. A particularly notable feature of this image is the cat's eyes gleaming to the left. A note is written on the back informing us that "Inside the derelict mill at Rowde - Wiltshire. There is an iron wheel still in situ but the leat and pond have been dry for some time." It is not apparent whether this is the western or eastern watermill of Rowde. Therefore, for this reason, both the terms "Watermill (east), Rowde" and "Watermill (west), Rowde" have been added as Access Points. The photograph is undated.

West Harnham Watermill, Salisbury

The fifty sixth item is the fourth photograph relating to West Harnham Mill. This watermill is in West Harnham a suburb situated in the city of Salisbury in Wiltshire. An important note is on the back written in the same hand as the note on "EMGC-04-20-54". The note reads "Restored by M . L . Fox Pitt with the help of an architect from the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. When M. L. Fox Pitt took it over it was a derelict factory and the smell from the decay (ing) offal, could be smelt in Salis (bury) when the wind blew that way!" The photograph is undated.
