The seventieth item is an entry from a magazine presenting a reproduction of a water - colour entitled"Arundel Mill" painted by the famous English landscape painter, Peter De Wint (21 January 1784 - 30 January 1849.) The watermill of this painting is Swanbourne Lake Mill situated on the river Arun.

Reprint of the original notice in the 'West Sussex Gazette' about how the lease of the plot between the bridge over the Arun and the railway station, on which the cement mill stood, had just expired.

Lease of Steyning Watermill

Counterpart Lease for Steyning Watermill between the Rev. John Goring of Weston Park, Sussex ("clerk"), to William Penfold and Thomas Brown (both noted as being from Steyning and "Millers"). Signed at the foot by Penfold and Brown, and with red wax seals adjacent. The text notes that included was the Water Mill, Engine House, Coal House, "...machinery, steam engine, tackle & running gear there..." The term of the lease is noted as being from March 25th 1871 for 14 years. Approx. 740x635mm.
