Water Mill at the victualing works at Red House, Deptford

'Design for a Water Mill for His Majesty's Victualing Office Works at the Red House to be worked by water raised by a Steam Engine'. Transverse and Longitudinal Sections are drawn.
The yard at Deptford became the largest food-processing operation in England. It was largely rebuilt between 1774 and 1785.

Conveyance of land in "Birkle with Bamford"

One sheet of vellum measuring approximately 64 x 38 cm comprising a disposition of the land at "Birkle with Bamford" and commonly known as "Harwood Field" together with additional named fields and meadows (such as "Long Field" and "Rough Meadow") and "the Great Barn". The disposition is made by Thomas and John Ramsbottom and Richard Tunnadine to Timothy Whitlow.

Division of the Rambottom brothers' holdings of land in "Birkle with Bamford"

Two sheets of vellum measuring approximately 64 cm x 84 cm which divides Thomas and John Ramsbottom's holdings as tenants-in-common at "Birkle with Bamford" in two with "one Moiety thereof to Mr Thomas Ramsbottom and as to the other Moiety thereof to Mr John Ramsbottom", having "consented and agreed for the mutual interest benefit and advantage of each other to make such partition and division thereof".

Abbey Mill on Road of West Ham

The second item is a photocopy of an illustration featuring the windmill of the Abbey Mills of West Ham. The illustration is entitled as "Abbey mills on the road of West Ham". We are informed that this illustration was published on 13th February 1783 by John Harris at Sweetings Alley in Cornhill on the outskirts of London.

One sheet of vellum measuring approximately 56 cm x 36 cm comprising a lease for one year between Richard Tunnadine of Manchester, Thomas Ramsbottom, "late of Bury but now of Birkle....Bread Baker", and Mary Nuttall of Bury, "Spinster" under which Mary Nuttall leases the "common or Moor ground" known as "Wild Beast Moor" including "all Dwelling houses, Edifices and Buildings erected and standing thereupon". .
