Wrawby

Pen and ink drawing with wash, M056 Wrawby post mill, 1.5 miles NE of Brigg Station, 10/1931. Still working (at date of sketch) and was the oldest working mill in Lincolnshire.

Wood, Karl Salsbury (1888-1958), artist

"Worthing's last windmill"

Cutting from 'The Herald' of an article by Henfrey Smail detailing the history of the Broadwater mill in Worthing, including its ownership and eventual ruin. The article then continues on to describe Salvington mill, again going over its history, ownership, and technical role.

Worthing - Salvington Mill Tea Rooms.

This copy of the postcard bears a 1/2d stamp. The postage rate for postcards rose to 1d in 1918, so the image presumably does not date from later than that year. Someone has noted on the back that the mill was being used as tea rooms at the time of the image. It is a colour copy of WPAC-WIN-01359.

Fine profile. He notes that another roundhouse was still standing "close by" - so that would have been from the 'Old Mill'.

Freese, Stanley (1902-1972), town planner and artist
