Paul Sandby. Showing Mill 17." Paul Sandby (1731 - 1809) was a British landscape painter who was one of the founding members of the Royal Academy in 1768. It appears that Sandby undertook and produced this watercolour painting during the course of the year 1778. We know that the painting was engraved by William Walker and William Angus as well as being published by George Kearsley the elder on 1st January 1779.
