The mill has a special attraction as it is going to be converted into a memorial to Allen Clarke. The mill will be fully restored with the interior as a museum.

Cutting from "Blackpool Gazette and Herald". A committee of Fylde residents and the Mayor of Blackpool as president has been formed to preserve Marton Windmill in memory of local author Allen Clarke. Mr Cornelius Bagot the current owner of the mill has offerd the mill as a gift to the committee. A survey has shown that a considerable amount of money will be required to restore and preserve the windmill.
