Restoring Mountnessing Mill

RESTORING 300 YEAR OLD WINDMILL
A 300 year old windmill is now being restored at Mountnessing, near Chelmsford. It stands on property presented to the National Playing Fields Association. The playing field has been presented by local residents in remembrance of the Coronation.

"An Essex Windmill"

Cutting from "Southend Gazette" giving publicity to the preservation of the old windmill of Essex at Mountnessing. The mill is now being in "the safekeeping" of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings. It has beeen proposewd that the restoration work should be undertaken as a memorial of the coronation of George VI.
