File of miscellaneous documents relating to watermills in England and Wales

The folder contains a miscellany of handwritten notes ; most of which are extracts from the academic journal articles E.M.Gardner consulted as part of her extensive research. E. M. Gardner copied out extracts from a number of academic journals which can all be found in this folder. In addition, the folder also contains photocopies of Newspaper articles as well as a numerical list of windmills in England and Wales compiled by Gardner. There is also a photocopy of an article from a geographical journal dated March 1975 and entitled “Power from the Old Stream Mills” along with an official letter from the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth.

The folder contains handwritten notes on North Wales Mills.The folder used to hold an envelope with 6 photographs of watermills and an envelope addressed to Miss Gardner which contained 9 photographs of waterwheels with full descriptions attached from E.J Fasham. The photographs have been removed and transferred into a new folder numbered "EMGC-04" and catalogued as "EMGC-04-13".
