This Sub - Series comprises of photographs of watermills situated in North Wales. These were originally stored in the folder of handwritten notes now catalogued as EMGC-01-27. EMGC-04-13-01 to EMGC-04-13-09 were attached to the handwritten notes by E J Fasham in that folder.
This Sub - Series is comprised of a single photograph featuring Wollerton mill near Market Drayton in the county of Shropshire. This photograph was originally in the folder EMGC-01-16 and has now been moved to the folder EMGC-04 and catalogued as EMGC-04-15-01.
This Sub - Series features 10 photographs and 1 photocopy of a painting. There are three photographs of windmills, three photographs, one engraving and one photocopy of a painting which feature Animal Powered Mills and the last three photographs are copyrighted images of the Times newspaper demonstrating the industrial process of millstone manufacture. A postcard presenting an illustration of animal powered mills in India used to belong to this folder. However, this item as with all other postcards has been moved to the new postcard folder. It is important to note that the images of millstone manufacture have not been added as Digital Object files to the catalogue entries as The Times could still own the copyright of these specific images.
The fifth Sub - Series is comprised of photographic negatives featuring Horse Mills and a variety of different aspects of rural life. While the negatives themselves have been transferred to new boxes, the original packaging that they were stored within along side the original handwritten labels have been preserved.
