Postcard, Upthorpe Road Mill, Stanton

Postcard of the rear of Stanton Post Mill (Upthorpe Road Mill), with some typed notes on the back addressed to Peter Dolman. Notes read "Dear Peter. Enclosed are two photographs taken in May 1958. I used two ancient bellow cameras, one to the very old 116 format. I seem to remember that the stones that were once driven in the tail were standing against the roundhouse wall and Mr. Bryant told me that they had been removed in 1939 to reduce weight. He also said that the mill had never re-commenced work, the millwright (Amos Clark?) having deserted the project the moment war was declared. Yours Sincerely, Rodney."
