Scope and content

The list is an index to a set of 106 coloured illustrations of Kent watermills made by a Mr A. Wells. The illustrations are all dated 1933 and form a valuable view of the mills of the county during the period between the two World Wars. The sketches are referred to on page 140 of M J Fuller's 1986 book, Watermills (Kent and the borders of Sussex). This list is a blend of Wells' index entries and the titles on his individual sketches (often different). Copies of the sketches (of which the originals reside with Mick Fuller) are available for inspection via the Mills Archive.

The paper copy of the list includes a longer text, which appears to be a draft version of the appendix to M J Fuller's book "Watermills : Kent and the borders of Sussex" (1986).
