An enclosed description of the image reads: "A new use for an old device--Germans place search lights on windmills to mark Great Continental air-routes. Photo shows: An up-to-date old windmill, equipped with a powerful search light to guide aviators on the great Continental air route between Moscow, Danzig and Berlin.
