The indenture records the grant of a mortgage as security for a loan from Thomas Chapple to Henry Hill over: a variety of property and land in Northmolton, Devon; a piece of land at Long Holcombe awarded to Henry Hill by the Enclosure Commissioners for the Forest of Exmoor; and property at Garliford, Hareholt and Garliford Mills, Bishops Nympstone. A piece of watermarked paper, signed by Thomas Chapple, is attached (34 cm x 22 cm).
