George Rodgers was born in Louth in 1881. He inherited Waltham Mill from his father and died in 1959, leaving the mill to his son Tom.

Alan Stoyel was a researcher and enthusiast with a wide knowledge of watermills throughout the UK. He restored his own watermill, Venn Mill at Garford, Oxfordshire, in the 1980s. He was a founding trustee of the Mills Archive and recieved an MBE in 2019. He died in 2021.
