Stoyel, Alan (1939 – 2021), watermill researcher
Alan Stoyel was a researcher and enthusiast with a wide knowledge of watermills throughout the UK. He restored his own watermill, Venn Mill at Garford, Oxfordshire, in the 1980s. He was a founding trustee of the Mills Archive and recieved an MBE in 2019. He died in 2021.
Known as Tim. Founding member of the Midlands Mill Group. Leased Wrickton watermill for over 40 years.
