Article by Garry Barker in Gazette of 8th July, 1988, describing the 250-year history of Chartham Paper Mill. Includes photographs and testimonies of mill workers, many of whom have a long association with the site. These include marketing director David Smith; Machine man Bryan Moat; retired general manager John Wolstenholme; machines foreman Bob Standfast; general manager John Constable; and mill workers Olive Cox, Cushla Cooper and her husband "Chick". Mill was formerly owned by Weatherly family; later by William Howard and Son; later still by the Cremer family. It was bought by Wiggins Teape in the 1930's.
