"Windmills, 1960. Box II (inc. L J Turner's phs of Ingle's & Cattell's windmills, Willingham 1956)". L J Turner's photographs were not found in the development box, though they appear to have been placed in Stephen Buckland's scrapbook number 67 (JSPB-SBK-17). 1 photograph has not been catalogued as it is non-mill.

Photographs taken from negatives created by Peter Pearce and B. R. Billings. They appear to have been in the possession of SPAB at the time of Stephen developing them. Peter Pearce's photographs of predominantly Sussex, with some in Essex, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey, taken between 1925 and 1936. B. R. Billings' photographs were taken between 1913 and 1920.

"Arkley Windmill - restoration of Famous Landmark"

Cutting from "Morning Post". Arkley Windmill is one of the most notable windmills on the Hertfordshire-Middlesex border. It has been restored by Mr William Booth under the expert guidance of Mr Rex Wailes. Mr Booth hopes to arrange admission to the public on suitable weekends. Included in this article are some historical notes of interest.

Arkley Mill, Barnet Gate, near Barnet, Herts

Note on reverse reads: "Worked up to 1915, and with 1 pair of arms for some years. Built of brick and in very bad condition. Three pairs of stones. In front of mill is a ruinous shed where there used to be an engine for a separate mill. Two pairs of stones still there with gearing. Engine sold 8 years ago (1920)."
